The increased content of humus improves the soil structure and properities, facilitates water percolation, capillary ascent and storage.According to data collected by Professor J. Hermann from the Bydgoszcz Technical University, the increased content of humus by 1% retains additional 90 to 150 t/ha of water in soil.
The investigation carred out by the Poznań University Agricultural Chemistry Chair showed that in the dry year 2006 the yield of maize grown without the use of UGmax was 61 dt/ha and the yield of a plantation in the second year of the use of UGmax was similar to that of the previous year, i.e. 119 dt/ha. The use of UGmax caused better water supply to the plants and improved their condition in the difficult drought period.

UGmax allows to limit the possible losses and to improve the agricultural production profitability.

In a well-structured soil the plants strike roots easily in deeper layers and reach for lower situated water and nutrient resources.
